EAGLE MOUNT
BOZEMAN – Eagle Mount Bozeman’s Horticulture program is holding a Mother’s Day plant sale at Owenhouse Ace Hardware’s West Main store on Wednesday, May 8, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The plants have been propagated and grown by Eagle Mount Horticulture participants, and all proceeds will benefit the horticulture program.
Plants for sale include: Zonal and Mother Washington Geranium, Spider Plant, Trailing African Violet, Kalanchoe, Cuban Oregano, Goosefoot Plant, Angel Wing Begonia, Strawberry Begonia, and Hens and Chicks.
A greenhouse and grow lights allowed Eagle Mount’s gardening participants to plant from seed in the winter, and raised beds allow those in wheelchairs to work the soil. The nonprofit provides therapeutic recreation for people with disabilities and children with cancer.
Working with the gardening tools can help participants improve manual dexterity; as the harvest season comes, participants enjoy eating the produce they’ve grown, considered therapeutic in its own right.
