On Sunday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m. at the Big Sky Chapel, All Saints in Big Sky will commemorate Francis of Assisi with our annual Blessing of the Animals. Please bring with you all your creatures great and small. We mostly bless dogs, but we have had cats, gerbils, a pet pig, and horses in attendance in the past. All pets are welcome so long as they can be controlled or confined. Please keep your horses in the trailer until we can all process outside for their blessings.
If they wish, owners will be given the opportunity to tell about their pets, why they love them and what they mean to you. Invite your friends – all are welcome!
On Oct. 7, 8 and 9, All Saints in Big Sky will host the 2011 108th Montana Episcopal Diocesan Convention. There will be three special worship services in the Big Sky Chapel. They will be held Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 a.m., and Sunday, Oct. 9, at 9:30. The Right Rev. Franklin Brookhart, Bishop of the Montana Episcopal Diocese, will preach on Friday night and Lutheran bishop, The Rev. Jessica Crist, Bishop of the Montana Synod – ELCA, will preach on Sunday. All are welcome to attend these festive worship services. It is estimated that up to 200 delegates and guests will be in attendance.
