BIG SKY – The Big Sky Farmer’s Market begins its sixth season on Wednesday, July 9 and features the very best of local produce, crafts and cuisine from around the region.
The event takes place every Wednesday at Fire Pit Park – located in Big Sky’s Town Center loop – except July 30, due to the Big Sky Pro Bull Riding event.
Sponsored by Pretty Paws and Bear Bottom Candles Company, the farmers market is now in its sixth season and hosts live music, family-friendly activities, and up to 90 vendors throughout the summer. The last farmers market of the season is Sept. 3.
Work by more progressive artists like Kelsey Dzintars (creative director for Explore Big Sky) and Kevin Schwarting will be featured at this year’s event, according to Town Center’s events and social media manager Erik Morrison, as well as new food vendors like Elsie Sew Co., which makes custom baked goods. The musical lineup is also more eclectic with artists like DJ Missy O’Malley.
Having grown from just a handful of vendors to one of the most anticipated events of the summer, Morrison says the event serves as a showcase for Big Sky’s colorful mountain culture.
“Our community is full of artists and entrepreneurs of all types who find their inspiration in everything from the history and diversity of the landscape to the people who live here,” Morrison said. “The Farmers Market serves as the summer’s stage for all of us – a place to gather and share our hidden talents and passions with the world.”

Event Details
My Barking Dog is a nightmare comedy that tells the story of Toby and Melinda, two lonely people whose lives are forever changed the night they encounter a starving coyote at their apartment building. Over time they grow to expect him, leaving ritual offerings to entice the coyote every night. Toby and Melinda forge a connection over this visitor and share curiosity and concern about his presence in the city. The coyote expands their world–until, one night, their world is shattered. Their lives are pushed suddenly into uncharted territory, sending them on a surreal odyssey that changes their city–and the world–forever.
