BIG SKY—Big Sky Fire Department will host its fifth annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser event on June 24. A volunteer-driven charity, St. Baldrick’s raises money for childhood cancer research and supports long and healthy lifestyles for survivors.
BSFD Chief Bill Farhat said that finical aid for the event and cancer research is crucial.
“We are still looking for people to sponsor our firefighters and community members who are ‘going bald,” Farhat said.
During the event, sponsored firefights and community members will have their heads shaved bald to spread awareness and raise money for childhood cancer. Anyone can donate online by visiting stbladricks.org and searching for the Big Sky Fire Department event. There are many sponsors to choose from, including Chief Farhat.
“People in the community love assisting with it and children love coming to the fire department for the event,” Farhat said.
The St. Baldrick’s event will be held at the Big Sky Fire Department Station 1 in Westfork Meadows at 9 a.m.
