Winter has finally arrived! After an off-season full of anticipation for snow and gearing up for winter, we can finally hit the slopes and enjoy our favorite pastime.

Big Sky Resort opened today, and Moonlight Basin will open on Dec. 9 for season pass holders, and Dec. 10 to the general public. Lone Mountain Ranch will open its world class nordic trails on Dec. 14. Bridger Bowl will open Dec. 9. In the meantime, get up to Big Sky and burn some calories before Thanksgiving dinner.

Lift tickets for opening day and weekend are $49/day. Big Sky has at least 60 acres of manmade snow-covered terrain open and three lifts, including:

o Lower Mr. K

o Mr. Ed

o Teaching areas associated with carpet lifts

o Tippy’s Tumble

o Swifty 2.0 terrain park with 13 features

o Explorer

o Ramcharger

o Three carpets

Swift Current, the Triple and Challenger are all ready to go should additional natural snowfall occur.
