BIG SKY – Homemade pies, cakes, cookies, breads and other baked goods go on sale in the main cabin at Historic Crail Ranch Saturday morning, July 28, starting at 9 a.m.

Organized, by Barbara Gillispie and her team, the Crail Ranch Bake Sale is a long-standing Big Sky tradition, says Al Lockwood, chairman of the Historic Crail Ranch Conservators. “It’s one of our happiest fundraisers,” Lockwood said.

At the same time, former Big Sky resident Paula Halverson Goldman, will return with her trunk show and sale of beautiful rugs and wool-felt clothing from Kyrgyzstan. Her goods will be on display and for sale until 3 p.m. Halverson Goldman played a key role in the original grassroots community action to save the Crail Ranch during the 1980s.

Historic Crail Ranch is a preserved Montana homestead celebrating 110 years this year. Operated and administered as an educational homestead museum by the Big Sky Community Corp. and the Historic Crail Ranch Conservators, it’s located in the Big Sky Meadow Village on Spotted Elk Road and is open free to the public on weekends from noon to 3 p.m. through August. Details available at crailranch.org.
