The United States brought a strong athlete contingency to Sochi, Russia for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Actually, it’s the largest group to ever represent the U.S.

Some 230 athletes from 38 states will compete in these 22nd Winter Olympic Games, and Montana sent three.

– Heather McPhie from Bozeman is competing in women’s freestyle moguls skiing on Feb. 6 and 8.

– Bradley Wilson hails from Butte and will compete in men’s freestyle moguls skiing on Feb. 10.

– Maggie Voisin, a 15-year-old from Whitefish, is the youngest member of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team and will compete in women’s slopestyle skiing on Feb. 11.

– Gary and Angelica di Silvestri, who own a home near Big Sky and trained for the Games at Lone Mountain Ranch in January, are representing the island nation of Dominica. They will compete in men’s 15K and women’s 10K classic cross-country skiing disciplines, respectively. Angelica will race on Feb. 13 and Gary will compete on Feb. 14.
