Jeffrey William Finn was born to Ann and Bill Finn on Jan. 7, 1948 in Proctor, Minnesota.

Jeff attended Proctor High and earned a Bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He served in the U.S. Army for three years, spending time on the Korean Peninsula, and he served in the Army National Guard for several years afterward.

He was married to Mary Rick in 1970 in Duluth, Minn. and they lived throughout Minnesota before moving to Montana in the early 1980s. Jeff spent much of his career working and volunteering for the U.S. Forest Service, and spent his free time camping, hunting, woodworking, working with his horses and enjoying the outdoors.

Upon his death he was working as a trail guide in Big Sky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill; mother, Ann; and wife, Mary. He is survived by his brother, Tim, and four children, Nathan (Kim) Finn, Patrick (Lucina) Finn, Molly (Frank) Hewitt and Daniel Finn. Jeff was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jorjia, Marcus, Xander, Jeffery, Morgan, Tracey, Morresa and Marlee.

A celebration of life was held May 10 at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel in Bozeman. A memorial fund will be set up at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
