The movements that started with protesters in a park in New York City six weeks ago have already made their way to several Montana towns.
Occupy Missoula, a group created out of what’s known as Occupy Wall Street, now has 1,009 followers on Facebook. The group has staged protests at spots in that city. Bozeman has its own group with 200 followers on Facebook.
The protesters are noted for utilizing online resources like Facebook and Twitter to communicate, and for their general assemblies at which the group discusses where and what to gather.
Groups in Oakland and Atlanta made national headlines this week after Oakland police used flash grenades to disperse protests and dozens in Atlanta were arrested.
