Best Niche Publication, Best Page Layout and Design among awards
By Joseph T. O’Connor Explore Big Sky Managing Editor
The Outlaw Partners’ bimonthly newspaper, Explore Big Sky, landed a trio of first place awards in Division Three at the 2014 Montana Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest on June 13-14 in Butte.
Creative Director Kelsey Dzintars earned credit for Best Page Layout and Design for her infographic, “Survival Essentials,” as well as Best Image Building Ad for a poster depicting the Big Sky Professional Bull Riding event. The entire EBS staff was awarded Best Niche Publication for Mountain Outlaw magazine, which is published twice annually.
“Outlaw Partners created both the Big Sky PBR brand and Mountain Outlaw from the ground up, so we take pride in being recognized for that branding in the Better Newspaper Contest,” said Dzintars, who’s been with the company for nearly four years. “Competitions like these are [also] a great way to appreciate what other papers around the state are doing.”
