For the month of October the 9 members of Big Sky Firefighters Local 4732, a local of the International Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO (IAFF), will be wearing pink shirts while on duty. They are participating in the IAFF’s month of action to raise awareness about breast cancer and the quest to find a cure. All the firefighters at Big Sky Fire and Chief Farhat will be wearing pink as well in solidarity with the Local.

With an estimated 230,000 new cases each year, and 1,200 in Montana alone, the Susan B Komen Foundation as been actively involved in awareness and research since 1982 and has raised more than $1.9 billion.

The firefighters goal is simply to raise awareness about breast cancer in the community and encourage people to get involved.
