Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation’s Two Fly Tournament
Warriors and Quiet Waters’ inaugural Two Fly Tournament, the Semper Fly, is being held June 13-14. Semper Fly will be the first of its kind in the Bozeman area. Since true trout competitions are not allowed on Montana’s public waters, WQW has secured approximately 12 private waters, many of which are owned by the same people who share river access with the wounded veterans WQW brings to southwest Montana for the healing sport of fly fishing. Space is limited to 20 boats and 40 participants.
WQW uses the therapeutic experience of fly fishing on Montana waters to provide a restorative experience for traumatically injured U.S. servicemen and women from Iraq and Afghanistan, bringing wounded warriors to Montana for a six-day program of fly fishing and recreation. Many warriors who come are still in rehab in the military hospital system. Once here, they have the opportunity to relax and to learn to fly fish.
Sponsored by Simms Fishing Products, the competition provides participants with a guide, a boat, food and prizes.
