BOZEMAN – The Yellowstone Park Foundation will now be able to invite
even more teens from across the country to experience the life-changing wonders of Yellowstone.
Early in July, YPF asked supporters to vote on the Explore Fund’s
Facebook page for Park Journeys once a day for the next 30 days, and
to ask friends and family with Facebook accounts to vote, as well. The
competition from the other 10 organizations for the $25,000 grant
awards was fierce, but YPF fans pulled through.
Park Journeys offers urban and rural youth from across the U.S. the
opportunity to travel to Yellowstone for a five-day experience that
inspires stewardship, nurtures leadership and encourages academic
potential among youth whose opportunities in nature have been
limited.
Sponsored by The North Face, the grants aim “to inspire and enable the next
generation of explorers by funding nonprofit organizations that are working to reconnect children with
nature,” according to its website.
This grant marks YPF’s first attempt at entering a social media
campaign.
