The voter-enacted decennial study of Madison County’s government is well underway, and the citizen-led study commission will host a series of listening sessions across the county in January.

The meetings intend to offer a chance for citizens to learn more, ask questions and share perspectives about the form and function of Madison County’s government. The sessions are hosted in collaboration with Montana State University’s Local Government Center.

Big Sky’s session will take place on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Big Sky Fire Station 2, located across from Big Sky Resort along Montana Highway 64 (Lone Mountain Trail). The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

On Jan. 6, the first listening session is scheduled for Madison Valley Rural Fire Station 1, also at 6 p.m.

Finally, on Jan. 28 at 6 p.m., the study will host a listening session at Alder Rural Fire Hall.

“These sessions are designed to be informative and interactive. Your feedback is essential as we evaluate the tools available to shape Madison County’s future,” an email from the study commission stated.
