Custer Gallatin National Forest will close portions of Goose Creek trail #439 and Bear Canyon Loop trail #440 in the northern Gallatins starting the week of June 8. The closure will be temporary and is a part of the Goose Creek Fuel Break Project, aimed at reducing wildfire risk.

During the closure, logging crews and heavy equipment will be present in the area. “For your safety, please be aware of future trail closures and plan alternative routes if needed,” stated a news release from the forest service. Drivers on access roads are asked to be courteous, patient and share the road with log trucks and to, “be prepared to pull over and allow log trucks to pass.”
