Ennis Lake Road, between Ennis Lake and Madison Dam, will temporarily close during the week of Aug. 3-7 so crews can safely recover a truck and trailer that went into the river earlier this month. “This road is narrow and winding and closing it is the only way to keep the private recovery crews and the public safe,” explained a news release from the Bureau of Land Management.
Also closed during the closure will be the Trail Creek Day Use Area and trailhead, Fall Creek Day Use Area, including parking and the kayak launch, and the Wilderness Boat Launch above Bear Trap Canyon. Exact dates will be finalized by the recovery team, and the road will reopen once the vehicle is removed. Anglers and boaters are encouraged to use other access points along the Madison River in the meantime.
