BIG SKY – School will soon be out for the summer, but the library stays open and will once again be offering summer reading programs. This year’s K-5 theme is “Dream Big….READ!” Programs are offered Wednesdays June 20 – Aug. 1 at 4 p.m.
The first summer program, on June 20, will be “The Birds of Prey.” AJ, from West Yellowstone’s Discovery Center will present three different birds: a great horned owl, a rough legged hawk and introduce a newly acquired owl.
For the young adult and high school students, “Own the Night,” is a new program. To find out more about this independent summer reading program go to bigsklylibrary.org and go to the YA link (available later this month).
The ever-popular story time, designed for toddlers through Pre-K, will continue every Monday at 10:30 a.m. with a weekly theme. Frances Stewart return with her fun, interactive “Kidsing” program for parents and toddlers on Monday, June 11. Nighttime noises and nocturnal animals will be presented by the Discovery Center on Monday, June 20.
The library will also host a few different author visits for community members.
All programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library and are free and open to the public!
FOL meeting
The next scheduled Friends of the Library meeting is June 20 at 10 a.m. in the library. There are a lot of books that need to be covered for summer reading and some outside work to be done in the library’s garden. This is an opportunity to meet community members and get involved.
