Although Alberton is 265 miles away, the setting was perfect and the Lone Peak High School Big Horns had a considerable group of fans. The Big Horns fought a tough game Friday, Sept. 23 under the lights in Alberton but suffered a loss of 60-0.

The Alberton Panthers played well on both sides of the ball, and presented an experienced and sizeable team, with 9 players standing at 6′ or above, and close to half of the team in their senior year.

In the 2nd half, the Big Horns held the panthers to only 18 points, but didn’t have the steam to put any on the board.

“Alberton played well… we need to keep improving and work on fundamental football skills. The team was a bit sluggish Friday night and we played that way,” Coach Beardsley said. “Both the players and coaches learned a great deal from the Alberton loss in terms of where we need to be and what it’s going to take to get there.”

The Big Horns play at home this Saturday Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. against West Yellowstone. Support and cheer on our team as they play our “cross town rivals.”
