The City of Bozeman and Ability Montana will mark the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a community celebration in Lindley Park on Saturday, July 25. The day starts at 9 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting for the new All-Access Trail and a mayoral proclamation, followed by a 5K run, walk, roll and kids’ fun run on Bozeman’s accessible trails. At 11 a.m., the city will unveil an interactive map of downtown’s accessible parking spaces, with free live music to follow from Jacob Rountree, Jack Ooster, Maggie Hickman and Donny Elliott.
“This celebration is just the beginning,” said Ability Montana board member Jodi Hausen in a press release from the City of Bozeman. “Making the Bozeman Farmers Market, Sweet Pea Festival and other events in Lindley Park accessible for people using mobility devices also facilitates movement for parents pushing strollers and vendors using wagons or hand trucks. Universal design benefits everyone.”
