Brubeck Brothers Quartet to perform Feb. 20

BIG SKY – The Arts Council of Big Sky and the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center will

present jazz ensemble the Brubeck Brothers Quartet on Feb. 20, the fifth performance of

WMPAC’s debut season.

Designed as a tribute to their father the jazz legend Dave Brubeck, brothers Dan (drums)

and Chris Brubeck (bass and trombone) head up this sizzling jazz ensemble with

guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb completing the quartet.

The group has performed at concert series, colleges and jazz festivals across North

America and Europe. Although the quartet’s style is rooted in “straight-ahead” jazz,

their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play odd-time signatures while

naturally integrating the influences of funk, blues and world music.

The group’s creativity, technique and improvisation can be heard in their

uncompromising music, which reflects their dedication to melody, rhythm, culture and

the spontaneous spirit of jazz. The mainstay jazz website raves about

the Brubeck Brothers Quartet: “Their joy in its creation is contagious. There’s really

nothing out there that comes close to their unique brand of inventiveness.”

Each show in the WMPAC debut season lineup features custom hors d’oeuvres catered by Bucks

T-4 and a cash bar beginning at 6:30 p.m. with performances at 7:30 p.m. For tickets and more
