The final hearing in Madison County to create/expand the proposed Big Sky Mountain Trails, Recreation, and Parks Special District will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Virginia City.
This is the final step of a nearly year-long process, spanning two counties, to establish a non-taxing park district on both the Gallatin and Madison County sides of Big Sky. An interlocal agreement will allow the two districts to function as one.
The non-taxing “Meadow” district, a sister to the “Mountain” district, was created by the Gallatin County Commission a few months ago.
