The lead singer and manager of\nPaige & The People’s Band\, she’s shared the stage with renowned artists\nsuch as Mike McCready\, Brandi Carlile\, Taylor Hawkins\, Pat Benatar\, The Doobie\nBrothers\, and many more. DESCRIPTION:The Arts Council is please to be bringing Roots in the Sky back to Big Sky for its annual holiday choral celebration. The performance will take place on Saturday\, December 21\, a wintery reflection on the Nativity\, childhood\, and parent-child relationships. Tickets are $10 for students (ages 13-17)\, and $25 for those 18 and over\, and free for children ages 12 and under. Doors open at 7:30 and the hour-long concert begins at 8. \n  \nWith performances described as “the best choral singing we’ve ever heard in Bozeman (or almost anywhere)\,” Roots in the Sky has established itself as Montana’s premier chamber choir through a commitment to presenting thoughtfully curated performances of choral works – especially compositions by living composers and historically marginalized voices – that respond to the complexities of life in the 21st century and the world in which we are living. Set high in the majestic French Pyrenees\, The Shepherd and the Bear explores a conflict provoked by the reintroduction of brown bears in the midst of a traditional shepherding community. The film follows an aging shepherd who struggles to find a successor as bears prey on his flock\, and a teenage boy who becomes obsessed with tracking the bears. DESCRIPTION:The Bozeman Symphony invites audiences to experience a weekend of extraordinary music as Concertmaster Carrie Krause takes center stage to perform Beethoven’s legendary Violin Concerto on March 22-23 at the Willson Auditorium in downtown Bozeman. \nRenowned for its soaring melodies and profound lyricism\, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto is one of the most celebrated works in the repertoire. Krause\, praised by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for her “elegant” and “sparkling” performances\, brings her exceptional artistry to this masterwork. An acclaimed soloist\, she has performed with the Fairbanks Symphony\, Casper Symphony\, String Orchestra of the Rockies\, Battle Creek Symphony\, and Billings Symphony. \nBeyond her role as the Symphony’s Concertmaster\, Krause is a sought-after guest concertmaster\, collaborating with Bravo! Big Sky\, Helena Symphony\, and Billings Symphony. She has also performed with the Montana Chamber Music Society\, Strings Music Festival in Steamboat Springs\, and the Grammy Award-winning PBS series 11th & Grant. A dedicated advocate for music education\, she is the artistic director of Baroque Music Montana and the founder of the Second String Orchestra and Bozeman Chamber Ensembles for youth. \nThe program continues with George Walker’s deeply moving Lyric for Strings\, a heartfelt tribute to the composer’s grandmother\, who escaped slavery.
