MOONLIGHT BASIN – Moonlight Basin Resort is hosting the 2013 Volcom
Stone’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam free amateur snowboard contest this Saturday, Jan. 19. Moonlight is the No. 4 stop in Volcom’s contest series.
Top riders from around the region will attend the contest, which breaks from traditional rail jam formats in that it offers three rails dug in side‐by‐side to create a single, large rail
zone.
“This boosts the energy level and fun nature of the contest because everyone is together,
riding, hiking and watching in a big group,” according to Moonlight Basin events coordinator Ersin Ozer.
The event is free, on a first-come, first-serve basis, and boasts tons of free prizes and of course, PB&J sandwiches. Volcom will invite the top five competitors in all divisions to compete in
the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Championships at Mammoth Mountain, Calif.
The forecast for this
Saturday’s event is calling for sunny skies and highs in the mid 20s. Riders and spectators
can watch the event from the deck of the Headwaters Grille in the Madison Village
Base Area.
Snowboarders interested in competing can register at volcom.com (if registration fills online
there will be a limited number of spots available to register the day of – competitors should
arrive early if their division is full online). All competitors must check in for registration the day
of the event at the Headwaters Grille between 8 and 9 a.m. Competitors under age 18 must
have a parent or legal guardian to sign waiver. Lift tickets are not required to compete. However, discounted lift tickets will be available for competitors.
Practice is tentatively scheduled for 9 ‐ 9:45 am. Helmets are required. There will be a competitor meeting at 9:45 a.m., and the
competition is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with awards to follow. Joe
Ryan will play the apres ski music.

Feeling worn out from the winter? Feeling bloated, low energy or foggy in the mind? Maybe it’s just time to have a reset and boost your immune system!
It’s that time of year again, to refresh, renew and revitalize!
The community cleanse utilizes the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in order to help detoxify the body and reboot the digestive system, plus going through the process with a community of others makes it all that much easier to get through it successfully. It is not a time of starvation or deprivation, we eat 3 (or 4) meals each day and take specific herbs to assist the process of releasing toxins. It is designed to be a two-week cleanse, but it can be customized to the length of time that you are able to commit to and dates can be flexible if need be. You are also welcome to do it from a distance if you won’t be in Big Sky this spring!
What it includes: digestive herbal supplement and body oil (specific to your needs), 4 cleansing and rejuvenating herbal formulas, 7 days of the Ayurvedic cleansing food, a booklet of information on the step-by-step process and some recipes, weekly meetings and daily email support through the process.
