On the heels of Monday’s snow storm are another forecasted 3-12 inches of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday will bring temperatures a bit warmer than the 4 F Gallatin Valley felt this morning. A high of 34 F is expected, but with wind chill values as low as zero. Winds could gust as high as 18 miles per hour in some areas. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 11 p.m. Wednesday in the southern part of Gallatin County, including Big Sky, West Yellowstone, affecting high-elevation travel including Bozeman and Targhee passes. Accumulation is projected between 3 and 10 inches.
The National Weather Service warns residents of difficult travel conditions, icy, snow-packed roads and low visibility.
“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency,” stated the weather report. “The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511, or visiting the MDT Road Report website.”
