Portions of Missouri Headwaters State Park north of Three Forks are closed to the public due to high water danger. The campground is unaffected and will remain open to the public.

The Madison, Jefferson, and Gallatin Rivers come together in Missouri Headwaters State Park to form the Missouri River. Park Manager Ray Heagney says flows in all four rivers have risen rapidly in recent days flooding several areas of the park.
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE THE FOLLOWING AREAS OF THE PARK ARE CLOSED:
CONFLUENCE PARKING AREA
FORT ROCK PARKING AREA
PICNIC AREA
LING ROCK PARKING
BOAT RAMP
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials urge recreationists and anyone working on or near water to be on alert as high spring runoff and heavy precipitation combine to create unsafe conditions on many rivers and streams in Montana.

Recreationists should expect to see continued spring runoff and high, cold, discolored water and underwater hazards in the coming weeks. Check the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov for information on site restrictions or closures. For water and boating safety tips, click on Recreation and then Stay Safe Outdoors.
