Gallatin Valley residents have an opportunity to help shape the future of local transit provided by Streamline Bus, with an opportunity to give feedback on proposed new and expanded bus routes being considered to improve access, reliability and connections.
Streamline was founded in 2006 and operated for nearly two decades by HRDC, but in June 2025, transitioned to the newly formed Gallatin Valley Urban Transportation District. According to a press release from HRDC—which still supports Streamline’s public engagement—the proposed routes aim to link “key destinations” such as schools, medical facilities, shopping areas and employment centers. The release highlights its priority passengers as seniors, students and workers.

“This plan isn’t just about buses and routes—it’s about making sure our transit system continues to connect people to jobs, schools, health care, recreation and opportunities,” Sunshine Ross, HRDC director, stated in the release. “We need to hear directly from the community to ensure the system reflects local priorities.”
The public can voice feedback in-person by attending a community lunch on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m., at HRDC’s Bozeman office at 32 South Tracy Avenue. In addition, staff will be present on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at MSU Centennial Mall from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. before heading to Bridger Brewing from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Belgrade Farmers Market from 4 to 7 p.m.
“Community feedback will directly influence which routes move forward and how services are designed for the next 5 to 10 years, helping ensure services remain accessible, reliable, and responsive to community needs,” the release stated.
