A German-inspired restaurant will open Saturday, April 20, upstairs at the Rialto theater in Bozeman.

The “Bavarian concept” restaurant is inspired by German beer halls and will serve Montana bratwursts and European beers. It takes its name, “gute Laune,” from the German phrase loosely meaning “good spirit,” according to an April 15 press release from restaurant representatives. The restaurant and bar aims to be a “community-minded” gathering spot offering good food, refreshing drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu will include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, as well as a kids menu.

Gute Laune will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Sunday. Takeout will be available.

“In addition to Montana-grown ingredients and Montana-made items on our food menu, we are equally excited about our full-service bar offerings, everything from a Praga Pilsner from Czechia to a German Hofbräu Lager to handcrafted cocktails, carefully considered wines and a significant number of spirit-free options,” stated Erik Nelson, director of Nest Partners, which owns the Rialto, the LARK and Tinworks Art.

To supply and design the bar, Nest Partners is working with Wyatt Nelson from Montana Local Food Distribution, Daniels Gourmet Meats, B Bar Ranch, Pioneer Meats, On the Rise, Bausch Farm Potatoes, Montana Mex Ketchup and MFGR Designs.
