Resources on site include 40 personnel, 11 engines, one Type 2 helicopter, three water tenders and two dozers with response efforts coordinated by the Montana DNRC and Musselshell County. Evacuation orders are in effect for residents in the Bruner Mountain area and a shelter has been opened at the Roundup Community Center. Officials advise the public to avoid the Fattig Creek and Rehder Road areas to allow emergency crews to operate safely.

Strong, gusty winds contributed to rapid fire spread Thursday afternoon. Challenging terrain and limited access have complicated suppression efforts. Firefighters are working to strengthen control lines, protect structures in the Bruner Mountain subdivision and identify safe access routes. Aircraft are assisting with water drops when conditions permit.
