On Thursday, May 8 from 4 to 6 p.m., the Gallatin Watershed Council, Gallatin Valley Land Trust and Outside Kind will host the Bozeman Dog Poop Cleanup.
“Pet waste is not just an aesthetic issue; stormwater picks up dog poop and carries its pollutants into our waterways,” the organizations said in a press release. “We invite you to join us in scooping dog poop at our favorite trails and parks before the busy recreation season begins and spring showers wash harmful nutrients into our local rivers and streams.”
This year’s sites include the Gallatin County Regional Park, Sourdough Canyon, Drinking Horse Trail/M Trail, Snowfill Park and Peets Hill/Gallagator Trail.
Team leaders will pick up dog poop cleanup materials for their team from the Gallatin Valley Land Trust office the week of the event. Team members will meet up with their team leader at their chosen location and get to scooping at 4 p.m. Participants will receive a follow-up email with additional event information closer to the event date.
