‘A River Runs Through It’ opera holding Bozeman premiere

Opera Montana’s rendition of “A River Runs Through It” premieres this weekend, Sept. 18 at the Ellen Theatre in Bozeman. Based on Norman Maclean’s novel of the same name, the opera has been touring Montana this summer, offering previews of its programming. Finally, on Friday, Sept. 18 evening, its main cast will perform on stage for the world premiere. 

Composed by Zach Redler, Kelley Rourke and Matt Foss, the opera stars Schyler Vargas as Norman, Michael Kuhn as Paul, Ryan Bryce Johnston as Neal, Phyllis Pancella as Clara, Christine Taylor Price as Jessie and Megan Marino as Heidi.

“A River Runs Through It” performances will continue on Sept. 19-20 and Sept. 24-27 and tickets start at $32. For fans wanting to see the show’s final dress rehearsal, they can purchase $35 tickets for the Sept. 16 rehearsal at 7 p.m. at the Ellen Theatre.
