As grills heat up for this Saturday’s Brawl of the Wild football game in Missoula, so does the Can the Griz competition, when the Bobcat-Grizzly competitive spirit goes beyond the field to help those in need in Gallatin Valley. Back for its 26th year, Can the Griz rallies Montana State University and the Bozeman community between Nov. 7 and 22 to raise the most food for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank with the aim of raising more than the University of Montana-Missoula community.
Last year, Bozeman alone brought in $652,876.87 worth of food, contributing to more than 1.3 million pounds and dollars raised statewide. Every can and dollar collected during this spirited competition goes directly to fueling the community through the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and MSU’s Bounty of the Bridgers campus pantry. This year’s wishlist includes canned fruit, soup, vegetables and beans, peanut butter, pasta, cereal and rice. Learn more at canthegriz.org/.
