GALLATIN ROLLER GIRLZ
BOZEMAN – Calling all dudes and dudettes – it’s time to abide.
The Gallatin Roller Girlz are holding The Big Lebowskate – their final home bout of the 2014 season – on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Gallatin Fairgrounds’ Haynes Pavilion. The Girlz will take on the Electric City Roller Grrrlz from Great Falls.
This is a “Big Lebowski”/1950s bowling-themed event. Bust out the Credence, your rug, your best bathrobe, bowling attire, Viking helmets and marmots – costumed attendees 18 or over get first crack at rinkside Suicide Seating. There may even be an appearance by the Dude himself.
This family friendly event features food by Bubby’s Cuppa Jo and a no-host bar by the Zebra Cocktail Lounge, along with raffles and prizes including the Best Seat in the House, best dressed, and a Sundog ski chair giveaway. DJ Miss Illaneous is spinning tunes and Holler N’ Pine will sing the National Anthem. Fire in the Attic will perform fire-infused halftime entertainment.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the bout starts at 7:30 p.m. Pre-purchase tickets are highly recommended – Girlz bouts are notorious for selling out. Advanced-sale tickets are available locally at tart (in the Emerson Cultural Center), Cactus Records, from any roller girl/guy while supplies last, or online.
Kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center. An afterparty will follow the bout. Visit grgderby.com for more information.
The Gallatin Roller Girlz is a 501(c)(3) federal nonprofit and achieved WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) apprenticeship designation this year. The Girlz are working to achieve full WFTDA membership – allowing for ranking at the national and international level.

Join us for FREE music from North Fork Crossing at the Waypoint!
Founded in early 2021, North Fork Crossing has quickly made their presence known all around Montana. Most notably in the beautiful Gallatin Valley where they live. In a little over a year they have been able to grow their audience to a wide range of listeners – consisting of traditional bluegrass lovers to die hard jam band enthusiasts.
Composed of 5 young multi-instrumentalists, North Fork Crossing can do it all. Their genre resides somewhere in a strange untapped musical realm between Traditional Bluegrass, Psychedelic Rock, Americana, and Folk. The quintet – Cade Slayden (guitar), Ryan Kelly (mandolin), Rabi Phelan (upright bass), Silas Rea (fiddle), and Matt Hickey (banjo) are drawn to having Bluegrass reach a new younger generation of people, priding themselves on their unique sound being the “evolution of string band music”
North Fork Crossing has just recently finished writing an album – which they are now in the process of recording, and look forward to releasing into the world. In the meantime, they have no shortage of shows for you to enjoy all around the state. So whether you’re a Traditional Bluegrass fanatic, or a Psychedelic Rock aficionado, North Fork Crossing blends it all (with something a little extra) for a fast paced, high energy show that all music lovers will enjoy!
