The sunny month of April brought an early thaw for Big Sky’s meadow area, allowing the Big Sky Golf Course to expedite its opening schedule.
The driving range will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. The 18-hole course will open to walkers on May 10, and Big Sky Resort plans to fully open the course on May 17.
The phased opening is roughly two weeks ahead of schedule, according to an April 30 press release from Big Sky Resort.
“An early spring thaw and several sunny days have put us in a great position to open the golf course ahead of schedule,” Tom Conway, head golf professional, stated in the release. “Some ongoing course maintenance will be underway as we prepare for our full opening, anticipated on May 17.”
When the course opens for walkers on May 10, tee times can be booked for $25 per player, a special early-season rate.
If weather cooperates, a full opening on Friday, May 17 will include carts, club rentals and full service at the Bunker Deck & Grill.
