March 27 event marks 46th annual school fundraiser event

For the 46th year, the Big Sky Parent Teacher Organization will host its annual pie auction on Friday, March 27.
The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lone Peak High School gym, with the fairytale theme of “An Evening in an Enchanted Forest” including a dinner, live DJ and an open bar. The auction is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser and supports educational enrichment programs, extracurricular opportunities and additional resources for teachers across the Big Sky School District. Tickets are available online.
“It really feels like a town-wide event,” event co-chair Emily Eckhoff stated in a PTO press release. “It’s not just parents who currently have kids in the schools. You see families whose kids graduated years ago, local businesses, and people from all over the community showing up to support the students and teachers. It really speaks to the heart of this town.”
According to the release, the evening will feature both a silent auction and a live auction. Silent auction highlights include “vet for a day” and a pearl bracelet from Shelly Bermont Fine Jewelry, and the live auction will include a trip to Mexico and after-hours skiing at Big Sky Resort. Attendees can also bid on teacher-led experiences, like hikes and picnics or being Principal for a Day.
Of course, pies and cakes baked by students, local businesses, and community members remain a centerpiece of the event. And for the second consecutive year, the event will be held on school grounds to maximize fundraising impact.

Child care will be available during the event, though families are asked to RSVP in advance.
The event wraps with an after party at Tips Up in Town Center, including shuttle service to and from Tips Up starting at 5:45 p.m. and running until 9:15.
