The Bozeman Children’s Theatre will present “Elf Jr.: The Musical,” its first all-ages holiday production, featuring a cast of 100 students from kindergarten through 12th grade representing 13 Bozeman-area schools. The production is the first time BCT has brought together performers from all grade levels in a single show. The theatre group is already known for programming that includes summer camps, elementary after-school programs and middle and high school productions.
“This show is going to be an absolute blast,” a student named George, who plays Buddy, stated in a press release. “Buddy is all about fun and believing in the good in people. Getting to be onstage with 100 other kids is incredible and crazy, in a good way. Everyone brings something different, and together it feels like we’re creating a giant Christmas celebration.”
Based on the 2003 film “Elf,” the musical follows Buddy, a human raised by Santa’s elves, as he travels to New York City to find his father. Designed for family audiences, “Elf Jr.” combines comedy, music and a seasonal message.
Shows take place at Crawford Theatre at the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture on Dec. 19 and 20. Tickets are available online.
