The 38-acre Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center campus may see expansion in coming years, according to a news release from Bozeman Health. The facility which services 11 counties will see phased improvements over several years to address increasing demands of certain services. As of Nov. 28, Bozeman Health submitted a Master Site Plan to the City of Bozeman.
“The projects proposed in the Master Site Plan were identified through a multi-year planning process,” the release stated. The projects are outlined in order of priority. “For example, trauma volume at our emergency departments doubled from 2019 to 2022 and this year is forecasted to be triple the 2019 need,” the release stated.

The proposed multi-year phased plan for the campus includes the following improvements:
• City-required improvements to Parking Lot I and the maintenance yard adjacent to Lot E.
• Expansion of the Emergency Department (up to 10,000 gross square feet, eight additional beds).
• Construction of a parking garage (400-500 spaces) and an enclosed wayfinding concourse connecting several of the existing medical office building entrances.
• Construction of Medical Office Building 6 (to five floors with approximately 100,000 gross square feet).
• Vertical expansion of the Bridger Critical Care Tower (floors 4-5 with approximately 35,000 gross square feet).
• New landscaped open space at the southwest corner of the Highland-Ellis intersection.
• New landscaped open space north of the Highland-Old Highland intersection.
• Expansion of Parking Lots A and E.
“Bozeman Health will submit individual site plans for each phase of the Master Site Plan. Each subsequent application will be consistent with the approved master site plan. While the entitlement period of the plan is five years, the phasing timeline will be based on city approval and Bozeman Health financing,” the release stated.
