On Saturday morning, Dec. 6, the Bozeman Schools Foundation will raise money to promote academic excellence, teacher innovation, student recognition and resources at the 11th annual Santa Run for Education.
The 5K course in Downtown Bozeman is open to runners and walkers, with festive holiday-themed costumes encouraged and more than $4,000 in various prizes. The race will be marshaled by Bozeman School District Superintendent Casey Bertram and his executive cabinet. The event is sponsored by Stockman Bank and registration is open online.
“The partnership between the Bozeman Schools Foundation and BSD7 is an incredible example of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared belief in our students,” Bertram stated in a Bozeman Schools Foundation press release. “The Foundation not only helps provide resources that enhance learning, but it also strengthens the connection between our schools and the broader Bozeman community.”
According to the release, the annual event is the foundation’s primary fundraiser. Foundation Executive Director Jenn Lammers credited Bertram and his team for their commitment to tackling issues like student well-being and mental health, and early literacy.
“With support from the Bozeman community, we are breaking new ground, and the work we are doing will make a difference in the lives of Bozeman students for years to come,” Lammers stated.
“We believe strong schools build strong communities, and supporting the Bozeman Schools Foundation and this event is one small way we can give back to the community we’re proud to call home,” Stockman’s southwest Montana Senior Vice President Paul Pahut stated in the release.
The race begins at 9 a.m., and a Winter Wonderland event will be set up in the Willson Gym beginning at 8:30 a.m.
