On Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m., leaders who deal with AI in politics, journalism, nonprofits and science, will discuss the possibility of Artificial General Intelligence, the hypothetical idea that artificial intelligence can perform the same cognitive tasks that a human can.
Titled “The Future of Intelligence: Are We Ready for AGI?” the event is free and open to the public, and a part of the Symbozium series hosted by the Bozeman Library Friends and Foundation. It will take place at the Museum of the Rockies. Forum leaders include Tim Lockie, founder of The Human Stack, Sarah Myers West, co-director of AI Now, John Sheppard, distinguished professor of computer science at Montana State University, and Charlie Warzel, staff writer at The Atlantic.
Together, they will prod at the possibilities and existential risks of machines that match and surpass human intelligence at the Museum of the Rockies venue.
