Yahares was chosen from a list of 61 applicants, according to a letter from House to the school board, on March 28.

“We, the interview committee, are strongly recommending … Mr. Yahares,” House wrote.

The interview committee is made up of House, Laura Michel, Martha Johnson, Leah Johnson and Vanessa Wilson. Yahares is scheduled to begin in these new positions at the start of the 2014-15 school year.
