This weekend, the Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University will host the grand opening of its new café, Rocky Rex’s Roasts, along with special Member Appreciation Days in the Museum Store.
Rocky Rex’s Roasts Grand Opening
On Saturday, Dec. 6, Rocky Rex’s Roasts will welcome guests with signature coffee blends, locally made pastries from MSU’s Indulge Bakery and a spot to relax between gallery visits. Named for the museum’s beloved T. rex mascot, the café is designed to bring a playful, family-friendly spirit to the museum experience.
The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. with the winners of the café’s naming contest. Complimentary Yellowstone Coffee Roasters drip coffee will be served from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The café is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers free parking and Wi-Fi.
Member Appreciation Days at the Museum Store
Member Appreciation Days in the museum store will be held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On these days, merchandise will be 20% off for museum members and Peyote Bird jewelry will be 40% off for all visitors. Special festivities will also be open to members.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate Rocky Rex’s Roasts with the public and invite our members to a weekend of celebration,” said Emily Criswell, the museum’s associate director of visitor services. “The new café and these member events reflect our ongoing efforts to deepen engagement, support our community and enhance the museum experience.”
