The City of Bozeman is hosting its fourth annual Garden Party on June 6 at Museum of the Rockies. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the city will be giving away free plants, compost, native seed mixes and more.
While supplies lasts, residents connected to City of Bozeman water for outdoor watering can take home the following items for free: three drought tolerant plants, up to five gallons of compost, drip irrigation supplies, a water smart plant guide, and more.
The city requests proof of a water account to be eligible for free items. Residents can bring a paper utility statement or an e-statement. Or, show your Dropcountr account on your phone.
Garden designer Linda Iverson will guide an interactive tour of the Museum of the Rockies water-wise gardens. Participants will learn about the philosophy behind each garden bed design and look at the efficient irrigation design that keeps these water-wise plants thriving. Tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Other demonstrations include water smart irrigation technology. Participants can learn about drip irrigation systems and learn with hands-on demonstrations from the water conservation team.
The day will include a plant exchange where anyone can bring plants or plant cuttings to share or exchange. Local community groups and gardening experts from across the valley will be available to discuss any gardening needs.
