Don’t Curb Your Crap program offers free dump services during campus move-out

In an effort to prevent the dumping of large, bulky items such as furniture during rental move-outs at the end of the school semester, the City of Bozeman is encouraging Montana State University students to utilize the “Don’t Curb Your Crap” program, in which large unwanted items picked up for free during a spring cleanup.

The annual program waives bulky item pickup fees from April 20 through May 31, which typically costs $20 per item, covering items like couches, desks and mattresses. The program is available to current students and spring graduates, who must schedule a pickup through the city’s website.

“We’ve had over 800 students arrange for bulky item pickup since the start of this program,” said Emily Kiely, community engagement coordinator at the City of Bozeman in an April 14 press release. “That’s hundreds of couches, desks, mattresses and other items each year that are getting disposed of quickly and properly, rather than staying outside where it can be a hazard. We’re excited to help students and neighborhoods through this program.”
