Ennis community raising funds for local skate park

EBS STAFF

A group of Ennis teens, parents, Lions Club members and adult skateboarders, are raising money for a skate park on a plot of land already donated by the local Lions Club behind the Lions Club Park. The fundraiser website cites skateboarding as a source for an affordable way to build community and provide a healthy activity for local youth.

The group will work alongside Montana Pool Service to fund, design and construct the skatepark. Montana Pool Service is a nonprofit founded by Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, a Montana native who has made it a mission to help build connections and community through skateboarding. While $200,000 is still needed for the project, the group hopes to raise that within the next year. Those looking to help out can email team@ennislionsskatepark.org.
