The Fish Creek Fire in the Bridger-Teton National Forest has burned through 11,397 acres, according to an Aug. 27 press release from the U.S. Forest Service. The fire is northeast of Jackson, Wyoming, and seven miles southwest of Togwotee Pass.

In an effort to contain the fire during warm and dry weather conditions, personnel are working to restrict the blaze to a defined area.

A joint closure of the Bridger-Teton and Shoshone national forests has been issued as crews work to manage the fire, and Fremont County residents along roads near the fire have been issued a Level 2 Evacuation, meaning they must “Be Set” to evacuate at any point.

Air quality near Dubois, Wyoming is moderate today, meaning that outdoor activity for sensitive populations should remain light.

The status of the fire can be tracked online through inciweb.wildfire.gov.
