Montana Highway Patrol reported five non-injurious crashes, two slide offs and a hit-and-run in the Gallatin Canyon over the weekend. Snowfall which continued into Jan. 6 morning slowed down routes and made conditions hazardous for motorists.

A string of four reported incidents happened on Saturday, Jan. 4, in a four-mile stretch between mile marker 53 and 56. Today, snow continues to cover roads along the canyon route, with the Montana Department of Transportation reporting snow covered conditions throughout the Gallatin Canyon and along U.S. 191 in Four Corners.
