According to a May 8 morning Facebook post from Gallatin County 911, the Bozeman Pass is closed and there is no estimate yet as to when it will reopen.
The post requested that nobody call to check on the status of the pass as the 911 service is for emergency situations only.
Montana Department of Transportation maps show that the segment between Bozeman and Livingston on Interstate 90 is closed (1.75 miles east of Bear Canyon exit 313 to Business Route-Livingston exit 330).
As of 2 p.m. on May 8, Gallatin County Search and Rescue is on route to assist any vehicles stuck in the Bozeman Pass area. Traffic is backed up to I-90 19th Avenue exit. The I-90 eastbound route remains closed but westbound lanes in the Bozeman Pass have opened.
