National opioid settlement funds have trickled their way down into southwest Montana. In a June 20 release, Gallatin County announced that the county and City of Bozeman can use up to $792,307 through the Montana Opioid Abatement Trust.
The Gallatin County Metro Region board will accept applications for opioid harm reduction efforts, including prevention, treatment and recovery initiatives. After receiving applications, the board will select proposals to send to MOAT for funding requests.
“The Gallatin County Metro Region Board plans to prioritize applications that focus on evidence-based prevention, care coordination, warm handoffs, and connection to behavioral health treatment and social health services to stabilize individuals and families,” the release stated, adding that the board will also consider on applications that align with the Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition Strategic Plan.
The deadline for proposal submissions is 9 p.m. on Aug. 31.
