Gear review: Kokatat Meridian GORE-TEX Dry Suit with drop seat

By Megan Paulson Explorebigsky.com Staff Writer
The Kokatat Meridian GORE-TEX dry suit ($1070) is my go-to piece for rafting on the Gallatin, the Madison’s Bear Trap Canyon and early season trips to the Main and Middle Fork in Idaho. Bottom line: It really keeps you dry no matter what the conditions are.

I took a swiftwater rescue course over Memorial Day this year, and as luck would have it, the water was 38 degrees, there were strong winds and occasional blizzard conditions. I wore a lightweight wool base layer and a synthetic vest beneath the Meridian and I stayed warm and dry. The best features are the integrated drop seat, reinforced Cordura knee patches, and the diagonal chest zip (which actually makes putting on the full one-piece fairly effortless).

Available in men’s and women’s colors and sizes.
