Get Decked

I’ve always wanted to create a truck bed system that would allow me to store my work essentials and outdoor toys in an organized manner, yet still have a flat bed space for sleeping or more storage.

However, my lack of carpentry skills would have resulted in a lot of plastic boxes and poorly cut plywood. Luckily, I stumbled upon Decked when considering a do-it-yourself project for my new Tundra.

Decked is a Ketchum, Idaho-based company that has a truck storage system has solved all of my needs, and it’s obvious that the idea was hatched by an outdoor recreationist. This relatively lightweight-yet-burly system provides a bombproof, raised, high-density polyethylene bed with a 2,000-plus pound rating and steel subframe, two full-length drawers that pull out on butter-smooth rollers, and four ammo box storage areas in the corners.

My outdoor play gear easily fits in the lockable drawers, and I could see this system being even more valuable to a carpenter whose tools are always in his truck. I’ve only been using the system for about two weeks, but it’s as good as expected. Did I mention it has a built-in bottle opener and the drawers can be used as coolers for tailgating? $1,150 decked.com
