Gallatin Valley Land Trust will host its annual National Trails Day volunteer event on Saturday, May 30, at Gallatin County Regional Park, followed by a free community barbecue to launch the organization’s 11th Annual Summer Trails Challenge.

The family-friendly volunteer event runs from 9 a.m. to noon and will include trail and park maintenance projects for all ages and abilities. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and snacks and a free BBQ to follow. Participants are encouraged to walk, bike or carpool due to limited parking.

“Every year we look forward to spending time with fellow outdoor enthusiasts preparing our local trails for a great season ahead,” says GVLT Trails Director Matt Parsons. “This year, we’re excited to focus our efforts on Bozeman’s west side at the community’s beloved Gallatin County Regional Park.”

According to GVLT, every mile logged unlocks $1 for trails and open space through a $100,000 sponsor match pool backed by local businesses including Bozeman Health, EVERGOODS, Oboz Footwear and Toyota of Bozeman.
